BUDDING young artists took part in a T-shirt design competition to raise money for Mablethorpe’s Coastguard.

Twenty five under 12s entered the contest held by the Fat Seagull in Sandilands on Saturday morning.

Though competition was fierce, it was ten-year-old Kera Mager who was finally picked as the winner.

The T-shirts will be sold in the Fat Seagull to raise money for the local Coastguard crew, but picking a winner was so hard that business owner Catherine Hallsworth has decided
to put all the designs into a 2013 calendar, which will be on sale soon.

“The standard was so high, we struggled to find a winner,” she said.

“Everyone had a lovely day, I’m hoping to present Coastguard with a nice big cheque around Christmas.”

“Hopefully the T-shirts can go some way to promoting Sandilands too,” she added.

Look out for the T-shirts, on sale at the Fat Seagull, in the coming weeks.
