Search goes on for Britain’s best beach hut

THE national competition searching for Britain’s Beach Hut of the Year will now be open for an extra two weeks to allow for more entries.

The last day people can enter their prized beach huts is now Thursday, September 1.

The competition has already seen 50 per cent more submissions than in 2010.

Beach hut owners in Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea are being urged to take part, and winners will be announced in the week commencing September 5.

Categories include Beach Hut of the Year, Best Presented Hut, Best Beach Hut Association, Best Beach Hut Story, Best Beach Hut Neighbour and Best Beach Hut Photograph.

Judges will include Clare Gogerty, editor of Coast magazine, seaside historian Dr Kathryn Ferry and renowned beach hut photographer Andrew Wing.
