As reported earlier this week, Anne took part in the sky dive yesterday (Thursday) to raise money for an orphanage in Burma, which she has supported for the last seven years.

The great-grandmother took to the skies at 10.30am today, and enjoyed the “highly exhilarating” experience, including almost a full minute in free-fall.

Speaking to the Leader after the sky dive, Anne said: “I am absolutely shattered now! It was a very interesting experience - such an adrenaline rush!

“It was painful when the parachute deployed, but it was very good with some fantastic views.

“I had a superb tandem partner, and the man filming the video was superb as well.”

She added: “I’m glad I did it, but it’s too soon to say whether I’d want to do it again.

“But it’s definitely an experience well worth doing, if you don’t mind heights!”

Anne has now raised around £900, including almost £500 through her online fundraising page.
