MABLETHORPE’S golden sands and happy holiday atmosphere has brought together four generations of one family whose story began at the resort over 60 years ago.

Lesley Brock has enjoyed Mablethorpe’s classic summer holidays for over 60 years.

Dating back to the 1950s where her childhood years began, the local coast was the top hotspot for family holidays.

Lesley, who lives in Nottingham, was first brought to Mablethorpe on holiday as a child with her parents.

Sixty years on, Lesley still remembers those fond childhood memories and every year since keeps returning to the resort with an increasing number of family members in tow.

The fond memories she has gathered over the years are memories which she will treasure forever.

And she says people should come on holiday to Mablethorpe so everyone can enjoy it!

Lesley explained to the Leader: “It has now become a family tradition to have our holidays in Mablethorpe every year.

“This time there are four generations of the family here to enjoy what Mablethorpe has to offer.

“I have a lot of fond childhood memories of Mablethorpe and to this day still enjoy a traditional old fashioned summer holiday where all of our family can come on holiday all together,”

Lesley’s family normally hire out the same chalets every time they holiday in Mablethorpe and over the years have met some lovely families that they keep in regular contact with.

Lesley added: “Over the years we have met some fantastic groups of families and there are now four groups that we have managed to keep in regular contact with and we always try and reunite back in Mablethorpe whilst on holiday, even if just for the day.”

Whilst holidaying along Mablethorpe’s coast last week, the family enjoyed donkey rides, building sand castles on the beach and taking a trip on the sand train.

For Lesley it is important to be able to share her holiday memories with each generation that is added to her big family.

Lesley continued: “We enjoy visiting Mablethorpe as it’s a safe place for our children to be able to walk along the seafront and enjoy the beach.”

Lesley will shortly be returning to the resort again over the next few weeks to enjoy Mablethorpe’s Bathing Beauties Festival.
