Somercotes Academy students in North Somercotes have been busy getting into the spirit of Christmas and have been supporting local coastal charity Furnichurch.

The charity delivers food and furniture to people in the Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea areas.

The students have been collecting food which can be made into parcels for the group.

Furnichurch manager Michael Collins said: “I am delighted that Somercotes Academy students have collected food for us for the first time.

“We deliver five-day food parcels all year round – it is not just at Christmas time.

“We deliver to all kinds of people in the area who need support. We also collect and deliver furniture.”
