A TIMELY £350 boost is heading for Mablethorpe Lifeboat Station after volunteers took part in the RNLI’s annual SOS fundraiser on Friday.

Crew members and shop volunteers held a successful raffle at Mablethorpe’s Co-op foodstore.

This was part of the nationwide SOS Day which aimed to raise money towards new lifejackets at a cost of around £3,000 per station.

All stations throughout the north of England will receive the new lifejackets which feature state-of-the-art technology to help save even more lives.

Station manager Dale Chapman said he was delighted with the amount raised on the day.

“It shows people are pleased to donate to us even during current times,” he said.
