A South Reston farmer said ‘au reviour’ to his tractor seat and ‘bonjour’ to his bike saddle as he cycled from London to Paris for charity.

Robert Key took to the open road with eight others including farmers, builders and property consultants from the Lincoln area for the 310-mile challenge in aid of their chosen charities.

Despite setting off from Crystal Palace in pouring rain and encountering typical English weather in northern France the challenge finished at the Eiffel Tower in glorious sunshine.

Robert managed to raise more than £3,000 for Asthma UK for his part in the cycle thanks to generous sponsorships.
