An action-packed family day out has been planned to mark this year’s illumination season in Mablethorpe that is taking place next weekend.
The town’s colourful display of light’s will be illuminated from Saturday, July 27 with an epic list of activities in tow.
In succession of last year’s event, organisers have upped their game to bring attendees a day they won’t forget.
Ahead of this year’s event, town manager Karen Froggatt hopes to see plenty of people in attendance.
“Mablethorpe Illuminatons Event on July 27, promises to be a great day and evening for everyone to enjoy,” she said.
“We hope to see plenty of residents and visitors enjoying this year’s event.
“Don’t forget the following day, it’s the Sutton on Sea Carnival so all in all a fantastic weekend for visiting the coast.”
During the day’s activities which starts from 10am, includes an additional summer market with over 30 stalls due to line the High Street with a long list of delectable speciality stalls expected.
A variety of street musicians will also be playing during the day, a haul of classic and vintage cars will take over the resort’s promenade as well as street theatre and live music.
Councillor Adam Grist, portfolio holder for leisure and tourism added: “A packed schedule has been planned to mark the start of this year’s illuminations season in Mablethorpe.
“The day will be filled with family-orientated fun and the evening will showcase some truly remarkable acts.
“This event will be a fitting start to the illuminations season in Mablethorpe which has always been a popular draw to both local people and visitors alike.”
Children can enjoy a Punch and Judy show, face painting and street entertainment.
A variety of musical stylings from today’s up and coming artists will also be performing throughout the day.
The event will end with an epic firework display on the beach and a performance from Nutkhut, who will present a highly energetic, and vibrant small-scale dance and drumming show showcasing the talents of a diverse range of British dancers who recently performed at Buckingham, Palace.
