NORTH Somercotes is to host a Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday March 25.
It will set off from the Luke Walmsley Pavilion on the playing fields and follow public footpaths to the south of the village.
People can choose to complete one, three or six miles and villagers are being encouraged to get involved.
Paul Walmsley, Chairman of North Somercotes Playing Fields Association, said: “From teeny-tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock there’s something for everyone on the big day. This is the first Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in North Somercotes and it’s set to be a great event. So come on, pull your Sport Relief socks up, enter the Mile and do something amazing!”
Over one million men, women and children are expected to take part in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile across the country to raise money for good causes.
