A SUPPER of steak pie served with mashed potatoes, mushy peas and gravy followed by a lovely selection of luscious puddings and jolly games of beetle provided fun for all who attended East Barkwith Village Hall.
The event was arranged by St Mary’s Church committee members who cooked and served the meal including the pies which were made and supplied by a local butcher with vegetarian quiche for the non meat eaters.
The luxury ‘posh puds’ were all home made and donated by committee members and friends and guests were invited to take along their own choice of drinks and glasses with soft drinks available for those who needed them.
The fun games of beetle were organised by Jane Perkins and generated friendly competitive play and the winner overall was Tom Whyles her young grandson!
His prize was a large box of roses chocolates and he very generously opened it up and shared them with other guests while there were many prizes in the raffle, run by Mary Jordan and her sister Megan for the owners of lucky tickets.
The total raised was £519 towards the maintenance of the Parish Church thanks are extended to those who helped and gave their support.
