A CHRISTMAS fayre in Sutton on Sea raised a huge £575 for local community groups in the area.
St Clement’s Church hall hosted a number of Christmas-themed events on the day with local groups taking part to raise vital funds.
It was held on Saturday and organisations including LIVES First Responders, Friends of Marisco and Sutton Community Voluntary Car Service will all benefit from the day.
Event organiser Diana West said: “We are over the moon that so much money was raised.
“It was a marvellous example of local groups working together for Sutton on Sea.”
Residents Association chairman and district councillor Andrew Ferryman added: “Despite the harsh economic climate and Christmas only three weeks away the community came out and supported local voluntary groups that work so hard for Sutton.”
It is hoped that the fete will become an annual event which will grow from strength to strength.
