SUTTON on Sea Horticultural Society recently held their annual flower show at the Meridale Centre, the 70th staging of the occasion.

The show was officially opened by Dorothy Baker, who at 91 years of age, is the longest serving member of the society. She commented on how beautiful the arrangements of flowers were.

There was an extremely high standard of entries with each competing for prizes.

Meridale Secretary John Monk MBE said: “The show had something for everyone. Stunning floral art, prize winning vegetables, intricate craft work and scrumptious cakes and scones.”
