Two Louth youngsters have reached a pinnacle in their martial arts training this month, gaining their ‘1st Dan’ status in Taekwondo.

Evan Asquith and Braydon Koss, who both attend Lacey Gardens Junior School, started Taekwondo in Jan 2010 and have finally reached their ambition.

Meanwhile Leanne Gowler, who is a nurse at Grimsby hospital, also passed her ‘2nd Dan’ promotion on November 2.

All three students had to show their skill in Poomsae (patterns), full contact competition sparring, one step techniques, self defence and destruction.

Evan, Braydon and Leanne all train at Yom Chi Taekwondo, based at Cordeaux Academy in Louth, which meets on Wednesdays between 6pm and 8.30pm,

The group also meets at Brookenby Community Centre (Wednesdays, 6pm-7.30pm), and Ayscough Hall in Lee Street, Louth (Sundays, 10.30am-11.30am).
