Louth Playgoers’ pantomime for January 2016 has been revealed - and an exciting competition is underway to find their leading actress!

The pantomime will be Cinderella, and it is being produced by local best-selling author, Stuart Spendlow, and directed by theatre veteran, Jerry Smith.

The show will feature a
live band, lots of sparkly dancers, terrific songs and plenty of pantomime magic.

Inspired by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s talent search competitions of recent years, it is hoped that the campaign will help the organisers to find their perfect Cinderella.

Stuart Spendlow told the Leader: “We’re searching for our Cinderella and we’re determined to find
the perfect fit for the hypothetical slipper!

“Auditions are open to anyone female who is 15 years of age or older.

“We are looking for someone with great stage presence, a beautiful singing voice and excellent charisma and charm - we need a Cinderella that every boy in the audience falls in love with, and every girl wants to be.”

Stuart added: “Our Cinderella is out there waiting to be discovered, so don’t let her miss this opportunity.”

Those wishing to audition should contact the director, Jerry Smith, via email at cheryljerry.smith@gmail.com, and
turn up at the Riverhead Theatre, at 7pm on Monday July 27.

Open auditions for all the other roles will take place over September 21-22 at the Riverhead Theatre.

The pantomime itself will run from Friday January 8
until Saturday January 16.
