Town clerk hopes for a decision on future of Mablethorpe market

TALKS continue to decide the future of Mablethorpe’s market.

East Lindsey District Council want to move the market from a Thursday to a Tuesday and intended to do so by June. But local opposition saw Mablethorpe Town Council enter talks to take it over and keep its current day.

The town council clerk Steve Fletcher confirmed ‘positive talks’ were ongoing and hoped for an agreement by next week.

Portfolio Holder for the Economy at ELDC, Coun Craig Leyland, said: “We remain in positive discussions with Mablethorpe Town Council and look forward to meeting with their representatives again soon.”
