Louth Town Council has released an official statement
in response to recent allegations of bullying in
the council chamber.

As reported last week, Councillor Laura Stephenson spoke during the Town Council meeting on
Tuesday April 14, saying
that her son and fellow councillor, Jack Wood,
was not in attendance due to feeling “too bullied” by some of the other councillors
when he has attended
meetings in the past.

The Town Council’s statement of response
reads: “Louth Town Council have an adopted complaints policy which clearly outlines the appropriate procedure for reporting incidents
such as bullying raised by Councillor Laura Stephenson regarding the absence of Councillor Jack Wood during a Council
meeting on Tuesday
April 14, 2015.

“The process would involve reporting the matter to the East Lindsey District Council Monitoring Officer for investigation.”
