Cyclist (37) from Louth area dies after A46 collision

A 37-year-old man from the Louth area has died after the bike he was riding collided with a car in Lincoln on Sunday morning.

The man was taken to hospital following the collision involving a Ford Focus on the eastbound carriageway of the A46 Lincoln Bypass, near to Burton Road Bridge, at about 2.15am.

He was taken to Lincoln County Hospital with what police described as serious injuries but was later pronounced dead by medical staff.

Nobody else was injured and police would like to hear from anyone who might have seen the collision but not already spoken to them.
