A MOTORIST has died in a collision which occurred early this morning (Friday) at South Willingham, ten miles west of Louth.
The collision took place shortly before 6am on the B1225 High Street road.
A silver Citroen car left the road and collided with a tree.
Police were called and paramedics also attended and the male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The B1225 has been closed at the junction with the A157 and local diversions are in place.
This incident takes the total fatalities on Lincolnshire roads to 47 for this year, two more than 2010’s total of 45.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the car driven in the moments before to contact their Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855, quoting incident 56 of December 30.
