Trevor brings home the bacon at awards

The popular Trevor Fairburn Butchers Ltd in Louth has been awarded another prestigious award.

The shop in Mercer Row shop was honoured by judges at the East Midlands Pork Product Excellence Awards, organised by BPEX, when it stopped at the Newark Showground last week.

Some 114 products were put forward for evaluation by some of the industry’s most respected judges, across ten categories.

Taking gold and top spot in the Home Cured Bacon and Gammon category was a delighted Trevor Fairburn, who was also crowned Lincolnshire Butcher of the Year in October.

He said: “I’m over the moon; we’ve entered and won gold awards before but this is our first category champion title! We also came away with five gold awards, including one for our Pork and Cranberry Sausage which we were asked to produce by people in the town for Christmas.”

Trevor accepted the award from category sponsor Steve Derrick of Lucas Ingredients.
