The two young men from Mablethorpe who were killed in a head-on collision in the Chapel St Leonards area yesterday evening (Thursday September 11) have been named locally as Marcus Shaw and Sean Glover.

Following reports of the fatal crash this morning, tributes have flooded in for the two young men, who were aged 21 and 19 respectively. It is understood that Mr Shaw celebrated his 21st birthday just two days ago.

“My heart goes out to all the family involved, you will be sadly missed by a lot of people around here”, said one tribute on Facebook, while a comment on the Louth Leader page said: “So sad thoughts go out to friends and family. R.i.p gone to soon”.

Another comment added: “R.I.P Marcus Shaw.. Crazy to think only yesterday I was writing happy 21st birthday to you. The good ones are always taken first.”

The two men died following a collision between their black Renault Clio and a silver Vauxhall Astra at around 7pm yesterday.

Two other passengers, a 23-year-old local man and a 21-year-old local man, was both taken to hospital.

The driver of the Astra, a man believed to be 70 years old and from South Yorkshire, was also killed.
