The £470 funding for the willow dome and tunnel with raised flowers beds was provided by Councillor Ros Jackson (Louth Trinity), via ELDC’s Councillor Community Grants scheme, to allow and encourage children to play outdoors throughout the year.

Local residents have slammed the vandals on social media.

Emma Sykes said: “It’s so unfair, they shouldn’t get away with it”, and Lynn Selby added: “It’s so sad, all everyone’s hard work, let’s hope they are caught and punished accordingly.”

Town councillor Dawn Blakey commented: “I just can’t see what pleasure they get out of doing this.”
