Long-serving Labour MP for Great Grimsby, Austin Mitchell, will be visiting Louth on Saturday afternoon (March 28) to help launch the party’s campaign for the Louth and Horncastle seat.
Mr Mitchell, who has held the Great Grimsby seat for more almost 40 years after winning a by-election in 1977, will be joining local Labour candidate Matthew Brown to launch his campaign at The King’s Head pub in Mercer Row at 1pm on Saturday.
Mr Brown said: “Across the constituency, Labour is talking to voters who are tired of being ignored by a complacent Conservative party. We are privileged to have been joined by Austin Mitchell, who has been a tireless campaigner for the people of Lincolnshire.
““The Conservatives have given Louth and Horncastle a clear choice - either you choose a Tory candidate who has come to the constituency to advance a career, or you choose a local campaigner who will fight hard for Lincolnshire’s future.”
Mr Mitchell will be joining Mr Brown is his tour of the Louth and Horncastle constituency over the coming weeks.
