LOUTH cricketer Arran Brindle has made an 8,000 mile call home after linking up with her pupils at Greenwich House School via video this afternoon.
England Women’s cricketer and teacher Arran is currently competing in the World Twenty20 Championships, and chatted with pupils along with England captain Charlotte Edwards.
Although Arran’s focus is very clearly on her success with the England side whilst on tour, she also understands the importance of keeping in touch with the students she teaches at the Greenwich House Independent School.
“Whilst away it is important I keep in touch with students at the school and to update them on the progress we’re making in Sri Lanka. The other girls in the team are also keen to support me in doing this,” she said.
“Most of the students take a keen interest in cricket and it’s exciting for us to be able to speak and for me to be able to explain to them about the cultural differences between the two countries and what it’s like to live in our parts of the world.”
