MOTORING students at Wolds College in Louth have joined the likes of Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Jack Brabham and Graham Hill by driving a 1967 Ferrari Formula One car around Silverstone.
Though it wasn’t for real, the students got a feel of exactly how that Ferrari 242 3.0 V12 would have felt to drive around the home of racing, thanks to a simulator.
Andy Howlett’s Legends Simulator was in the school for a two-day period earlier this week, giving students as well as teachers the chance to take to the track.
Taking in the likes of Stowe, Club and the legendary Becketts complex, each driver had the chance to set hot laps around the circuit.
Leader reporter Sam even took to the track, but could not get to grips with the lack of modern technical aids, crashing the car on a number of occasions.
Watch the video to see Harry Dransfield putting the hammer down as he put in his flying lap, and read the full story in the Louth Leader next week.
