VIDEO: Louth area pupils take part in cross country competition

Staff and young sports leaders at King Edward VI Grammar School hosted a cross country event for 300 primary pupils last week.

Nine primary schools, all belonging to the Wolds School Sport Partnership, took part in the event on March 3 which was led by the King Edward’s PE Department.

The schools involved were Greenwich House, Kidgate, Lacey Gardens, Osgodby, St Michael’s, Middle Rasen, North Cockerington, Grasby and North Somercotes.

A team of 60 Year Nine students from King Edward’s helped the competition to run smoothly, helping as course marshals, score-keepers, recording race positions and leading warming up and cooling down sessions.

The winners for each category were as follows:

Year 3/4 Girls: 1st Lacey Gardens, 2nd St Michaels, 3rd Kidgate.

Year 5/6 Girls: 1st Greenwich House, joint 2nd Kidgate and St Michael’s.

Year 5/6 Boys: 1st Lacey Gardens, 2nd Kidgate, 3rd Grasby.
