Louth’s Playhouse Cinema reopened its doors for the blockbuster film The Hobbit on Friday after a major refurbishment.
The Cannon Street cinema has revamped two of its screens with new seating and the latest technology like 3D, and high quality digital sound.
Peter Jackson’s prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy was the first film to be show under the fresh look.
Louth building firm Andrew Blades was drafted in to carry out the work, which originally got underway in the spring.
