Video: Silent protestors make voices heard in Mablethorpe

A GROUP of angry local residents held a silent protest on Saturday morning in Mablethorpe.

It was organised by community members who were angered by comments which were made by Lincolnshire County Councillor Colin Davie last week, where he criticised Lindum’s development plans for Mablethorpe.

Coun Davie’s letter to the secretary of state said Lindum’s plans ‘set a dangerous precendent for development along the coastline’ and would ‘have an adverse impact on the vitality and sustainability of the town’.

Steph Carruthers, who helped organise the event, said the protest was a success.

“This was a community effort and it shows there are members of the community out there who do not want our town to die,” she said.
