NEXT month’s Spirit of the Marsh weekend in Theddlethorpe is set for a Viking invasion.
The event, planned for Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24 will see a number of cultural attractions celebrating the history of the village, and organisers have booked Viking re-enactment group the Bi Frost Guard.
They will be performing re-enactments of battles from the past as well as forming a torch light procession and other spectacles. They will be setting up camp at the Arklow House Farm for the weekend.
The torch light procession will start on the Saturday from 9pm from the King’s Head Public House to Arklow House Farm, where prior to the burning a ritual, there will be spectacle of fire eating and fire poi artistry. Anyone who visits the festival during the day can attend.
Day passes are priced at £10 on the gate and £18 for weekend passes, there are concessions available. Camping for the weekend is now free.
