A visitor guide that includes Mablethorpe, Skegness and the Wolds has received a national award.

The annual Mablethorpe, Skegness and the Lincolnshire Wolds visitor guide took third place in the Carrier Group Website and Brochure Awards presented at the British Destination’s Annual Conference.

This year alone, 65,000 copies have been printed and requests for copies are up 60 per cent compared to last year.

The 56 page, full colour A4 guide was named in the Brochure category where it was praised for its modern magazine-style look, with bold selling messages showing the wide variety on offer to visitors.

A move away from more stereotypical photography showcases bold, less obvious image of the area. The fact it looks different to most similar publications was credited with giving it ‘stand-out’ appeal.

East Lindsey District Council’s portfolio holder for leisure and tourism, Coun Adam Grist, said: “This visitor guide showcases some of the best of the East Coast and the Wolds. We hope to build on its success, providing a welcome boost to the economy.”
