Visitors flock to St Mary’s Church East Barkwith

OVER 150 visitors were welcomed to St Mary’s Church, East Barkwith, when it was open as part of the annual West Lindsey Churches Festival.

The theme was weddings and baptisms, and there was an overwhelming response to the appeal by the village church committee for residents to offer wedding and christening dresses for the weekend displays – the church was filled.

There were accessories too and photographs of brides, some of whom had been married at the church, together with babies at their christenings providing everyone who called in plenty to see during their visit.

Committee members and friends were on duty offering help and support and serving tea and coffee with cakes, plum bread and scones with jam and cream.
