A resident moving a chicken shed in Yarburgh got more than they bargained for this morning, when they discovered an unexploded wartime bomb.

The shell was found in a garden in King Street and Explosive Ordnance Disposal were called to the scene to dispose of it safely.

The Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said the bomb was around a foot long, and was covered in mud and rust.

The village is four miles north-east of Louth.
