Louth butchers, Trevor Fairburn Butchers and Meridian Meats have been shortlisted for the East Midlands in this year’s British Sausage Week competition.
Overall 14 butchers have been shortlisted and will be judged by TV chef Simon Rimmer at a cook-off on Tuesday November 5 at The Orange Tree, Nottingham with the British Sausage Appreciation Society.
Trevor Fairburn Butchers has entered its Lincolnshire pork sausage and Meridian Meats has entered pork, pear and stilton sausage and pork, lime and chilli sausage.
The butchers were shortlisted from hundreds of entries.
To celebrate British Sausage Week, independent butchers and supermarkets alike will be running events and special offers, and local pubs and restaurants will also be offering special sausage themed menus.
