Staff at the Wilkinson store in Eastgate, Louth, have been festively fundraising to ensure their regional charity of the year, Louth & District Hospice, received a generous Christmas donation.
They hosted a Christmas coffee morning in store, where customers could enjoy a warm drink and a sweet treat from a range of delicious cakes. A family fun day, held at the Wetherspoons pub in town also took place, where the team dressed in festive costumes and acted as Santa’s helpers to spread holiday magic throughout the town, entertaining customers and raising £395 for the cause.
Stores from throughout the region, including Louth, Ashby, Rotherham, Grimsby, Bull Ring, Hessle Road, Darnall, Hillsborough, Wombwell and Frenchgate, raised an additional £1,000 by taking part in the Thorne Round Sponsored Walk.
Doreen Stephenson, trustee at Louth & District Hospice, said: “We are very grateful to the Louth store for its fantastic charitable donation. Christmas can be a very difficult time of year for people with serious illnesses and this money will go a long way to adding a little bit of festive cheer to their lives.”
