History has been made at the Rotary Club of Louth as members welcomed their very first female president.
Dianna Broadmeadow was handed the chain of office by outgoing president John Macdonald.
Dianna is the first woman to take on the lead role since the club began 60 years ago. She will have a busy year ahead of her – the club has a large number of projects for service in the local community planned for the coming year, which members hope will turn out to be a run of successes for the club and also benefit the community.
The club works with young people, is helping the drive to eradicate polio and it also lends a hand if there is a natural disaster. Recently, members sent aid for the Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
The Rotary Club of Louth meets on
Monday evenings at Louth Golf Club at 5.45pm.
During their meetings, members usually have a meal, as well as guest speakers.
They also discuss the local Rotary business. The club is open to anyone who wishes to join.
