Young motor vehicle mechanics at Cordeaux Academy in Louth have expressed a huge thanks after a Grimsby firm donated them a Mazda car for their ongoing training.
Metropes (Metals) Ltd of Grimsby, who recycle ‘end of life’ cars, handed the College’s Motor Vehicle Department the keys to the Mazda to the college’s post-16 Motor Vehicle Department on Tuesday.
Steve Turnbull, motor vehicle lecturer, said: “It is very thoughtful of Metropes to donate cars in such good working order.
“This is fantastic news for the Motor Vehicle department as we will now have a rotation of several cars a year which will suit all the course levels.”
Edward Sullivan, a level 2 learner said: “I would also like to thank Metropes, the car is fantastic to work on and will be a huge help with my learning.”
The car will assist learners of all abilities to carry out the relevant tasks relating to their qualifications from IMI entry level all the way up to IMI level 3 including Derby University.
