Letter: Gifted Tollbar youngsters

Editor - I have much pleasure in bringing you up to date with Allegro Appassionato’s activities, particularly as I have just enjoyed a display of talent that amazed, and was enjoyed by today’s Allegro’s packed audience.

Today’s performance is the first of our 21st year’s programme. It was given by members of the Tollbar Academy under the inspiring directorship of Shirley Boothroyd.

They included singers, violinists, a pianist, a clarinettist, guitarists, a saxophonist; i.e., a whole range of young, dedicated and gifted musicians.

Please remember that this is the first of the current Allegro weekly Wednesday lunch time concerts at the Conoco Room until July 2.
