I understand that Louth Town Council is taking East Lindsey District Council to court over the selling of the cattle market to ASDA.
Very laudable. If someone does not protect Louth we will down grade to yet another of the faceless towns in Britain. Louth has a character of it’s own which needs to be enhanced, not destroyed.
The irony of this situation, however, almost defies imagination. Louth Town Council will use public money for it’s court case against ELDC and ELDC will then use public money to defend itself.
Thus, we, the public, are paying for all the legal costs incurred by both parties in their legal battle. The immortal words of Victor Meldrew, “I do not believe it” come to mind.
