EDITOR – I have never known so many bone idle people.
The council has provided grit, yet nobody can take the initiative to just throw it down on the pathways for a few doors along.
Down Stanley Avenue the ice was literally within a couple of metres of the grit tub. Not one person has it in them to get a handful and throw it?
There are so many fit and able people with nothing better to do, but I would say at least 90 per cent of roads paths are left with thick ice, with the occupants willing to risk slipping and draining the NHS if they fall, than to just chip it up for half an hour.
