EDITOR – Not for the first time in the last couple of weeks have we experienced problems on Birch Road, Louth.
Wallis House/SEC was flooded out and now adjoining buildings have caught fire.
In both cases the emergency services needed to be called out. Wallis House and the old SEC building have been closed and left unattended for years.
As tenants of flats on Wallis Road and close to Wallis House/SEC buildings we now feel it is time something was done to either secure these buildings permanently or to knock them down as neither are used. These proposed measures would leave nothing for the vandals of our town to vandalise in our vicinity and would also minimise areas where people could congregate for illicit purposes.
