KEEN angler John Walster has died at Lincoln County Hospital, aged 78.
Mr Walster, who was born in Louth, was a widower to the late June Walster, and leaves son and daughter-in-law Gary and Joanna, and grandchildren Daniel, Ethan and Lucas.
He was the manager of Foster's Menswear (formerly Bradley's) in Louth for many years. He was popular in the town and very well respected. He retired in 1990.
Mr Walster was secretary of Louth and District Angling Club for many years, and was a very successful angler, competing in the England Championships.
He set up the John Walster trophy at Louth Golf Club to raise money for Grimsby Haematology fund in aid of Leukaemia Research.
He was a fine all-round sportsman and competed in many Louth Sportsman's Week events.
The funeral service, conducted by Mark Tyack, was held at Grimsby Crematorium.
