ON Sunday Grainthorpe entertained Revesby in the Cojos East Lindsey Cricket League.
Grainthorpe won the toss and batted on a hot sunny day, they were soon a wicket down when Chapman went for a duck.
Dave Clark and Phil Burrell then put on 61 for the 2nd wicket before Burrell was caught for 35.
Grainthorpe batsman then struggled and when Clark went for 46, Grainthorpe were 97 for 5 with only 12 overs left.
Ashley Marsh and Reggie Koen put on 50 for the 6th wicket in 7 overs when Koen was stumped for 32, Marsh soon followed caught for 32, but an unbroken 9th wicket stand of 26 between Neil Pridgeon (24 not out) and James Mileman (2 not out) saw Grainthorpe reach 193 for 8 off 40 overs.
Revesby lost their first wicket with the score on 16 to a fantastic catch by wicket keeper Paul Chapman off Reggie Koen.
A couple of partnerships threatened to develop but Grainthorpe bowlers stuck to their task and aided by some great fielding in particular a stunning catch from James Mileman, eventually Revesby were all out for 114 giving Grainthorpe victory by 79 runs.
Burrell taking 5 for 34, Daley Marsh 2 for 8 and Conor Elvidge 2 for 22.
On Saturday Grainthorpe hosted Frieston in the RP Smith League.
Grainthorpe batted first and amassed 236 for 6 off their 40 overs, the main innings came from Conor Elvidge (77), Paul Chapman (61) and Mike Cooper (36).
Frieston were still in the game at the half way point but when James Mileman removed their top scorer they defended to reach a total of 158 for 8 and give Grainthorpe victory by 78 runs, Conor Elvidge was leading wicket taker with 2 for 17.
