Busy time for Grainthorpe Cricket Club

GRAINTHORPE has had a busy weekend in the ELCL.
On Saturday they travelled to Burgh le Marsh, Grainthorpe won the toss and elected to bat.
They made a disasterous start being 15 for 3 off 9 overs, before Reggie Koen (59) and Daley Marsh (49) put on 84 for the 4th wicket, then Neil Pridgeon (38) put on 50 with Marsh for the 5th wicket.
Grainthorpe eventually finished on 194 for 8 off 40 overs.
Grainthorpe eventually bowled Burgh out for 127 to claim a 67 run win, Chris Moors 2 for 15 and Reggie Koen 2 for 12 the leading wicket takers.
On Sunday Grainthorpe travelled to Brocklesby Park and on a damp wicket Grainthorpe elected to bowl first.
They restricted Brocklesby to 99 for 9 off 40 overs, Reggie Koen 4 for 22 and Neil Pridgeon 4 for 24 taking the bulk of the wickets. Grainthorpe began well Dave Clark (27) and Richard Boxall putting on 34 for the 1st wicket, Grainthorpe lost regular wickets eventually reaching their target for the loss of 5 wickets, Boxall finishing 22 not out.
On Monday Cleethorpes were the vistors to Grainthorpe, Cleethorpes won the toss and elected to bat and were soon reduced to 7 for 3.
They had a few good partnerships eventually reaching 125 all out, Reggie Koen 4 for 7 took his tally for the weekend to 10 and Daley Marsh 3 for 19 bowled very well.
Ashley Marsh (36) and Dave Clark put on 76 for the 1st wicket, Clark and Phil Burrell (18) then put on a further 38, before Daley Marsh (5 not out) and Clark (62 not out) saw Grainthorpe home.
So all in all a good weekend with 3 wins and 57 points out of 60.
