CONGRATULATIONS to Castaline on becoming this year's summer snooker league champions.
They have taken the title by five points, but they couldn't finish the season unbeaten, as they lost their final match to their lone championship challengers, Manny Bernstein.

Mark Bullivant and Steve Taylor set the hosts up for a badly needed maximum, but any hopes of catching their rivals disappeared when Keith Sowter replied.

Alan Coppin wrapped up a fine 6-2 win.

After their victory over the leaders, Manny Bernstein needed to take the lot in their visit to Sibjon Builders to force a play-off, but it all went wrong with them slipping to a 5-3 loss.

Three drawn games in this encounter as John Mountain hit the lone 2-0 to separate the two sides as the visitors had to settle for the runners-up place.

Shaun Mawer, Howard Addison and Anthony Pridgeon were all winners in Sibjon Builders emphatic 7-1 home win over Crowtree Leathers while Joe Hunt, Lee Cook and Ian Cook saw M A Stephenson Autos home by 6-2 against Don Noble Bookmaker whose reply came from Jez Swaby.
