Dave wins memorial trophy

THIRTY six members of Sandilands Golf Club played in the Ken Mackie Memorial Trophy a stableford competition.
Winner with an excellent 43pts was Dave Hardy, Ian Crofts came second with 42pts and Paul Weston third with 40pts.

Mick Battersby and John Gibson both got 2’s on the second hole and Anthony Brass and Simon James 2’s on the 10th hole.

Thirty six
seniors played in a stableford roll up competition.

Division A was won by Dennis Jeffcock with 43pts, Gary Collins came second with 38pts, Malcolm Eades came third also carding 38pts but beaten on countback.

Bill Wilson won Division B with 38pts, Mike Yarnold came second with 31pts, Brian Ridal came third also carding 31pts but beaten on countback.

Captain’s night featured the Shoestring Scramble Competition, with 12 teams of four contesting this medal competition played off 1/8th of combined handicaps.

With perhaps only a putt deciding the first three places the results were first place Helen Sherratt, Pete Wilyman, Dave Hardy and Mark Storr with 57.125.

Second place after countback was Club Captain Richard Walker, Michael Collins, Mick Neal and Wes Jones.

Third place with 57.375 were Paul Weston, Colin Slater and father and son Dick and Ross Kingham.
