THE final mixed competition of the season was played at Louth Golf Club with 32 couples turning out for the ladies' invitation to gents, for the Rand Trophy.
Also taking place on the same day was the final of the Watkinson mixed knock-out.

The winners of the foursomes Watkinson, which had run throughout the spring and summer, were Pat and Brian Castle, the runners up were Simon Owen and Flis Smith.

It was a hard fought final only being decided on the 19th hole.

The winners of the foursomes Rand Trophy were Hilary Williams and Nigel Fell with 35 pts (20 back 9); 2nd A & G Brooks, 35 pts (35 pts 8 back 3); 3rd Mrs M Haynes and T.Moody, 35 pts (7 back 3); 4th K & L West 34 pts (20 back 9); 5th Miss C Wood & S.Moody 34 pts (19 back 9).

Twenty two ladies took part in the Grannies Trophy and seven ladies, who are not ‘grannies’, competed for the Barvik Bowl. Both were Stableford competitions.

Winner for the Grannies Trophy was Barbara Vickers with 38 points, Di Jones came second with 37 points and third place went to Rosemary Evans with 35 points.

In the Barvik Bowl competition Alison Jenkins won with 34 points on a count-back from Dawn Pereira, also with 34 points.
