GRAINTHORPE United celebrated a double victory after an 8-0 win against Immingham's De Kyme Hotel put the seal on their Division 7 league title triumph.
Both teams lined up with under-strength sides but it was Grainthorpe who took the initiative controlling the play without creating any clear-cut opportunities.

Grainthorpe broke the deadlock in the 40th minute and the floodgates opened, after neat interchange between Paul Chapman and Dan Brown left defender Chapman one-on-one with the De Kyme keeper.

The goal was immediately followed by a crisp 18-yard strike from Brown.

Goals came in thick and fast – Chapman added a further two goals to complete his hat-trick and then Mike Limb chipped in with two neat strikes.

Braithwaite scored his first goal of the season and Barry ‘USA’ Wray scored the goal of the day after superb pace and trickery by Simon Lovatt got him past three players.

The game ended with Grainthorpe celebrating their Grimsby Sunday League title.

Afterwards the side and committee thanked everyone who supported them.
