GRAINTHORPE began the 2008 season with a comfortable victory over Sutton on Sea on Sunday.
Grainthorpe skipper Phil Burrell won the toss and elected to bowl with poor weather forecast.

All the bowlers bowled well and took wickets with R Koen the pick with 4-13 from 10 overs.

Sutton finished with 79-9 from their 40 overs.

Grainthorpe made a positive start to their reply with D Clark making a rapid 13, when he fell and with the score 17-1, A Smart joined R Boxall for a solid partnership of 38 when Smart was out for 16.

P Burrell then joined Boxall to see Grainthorpe home, with Boxall finishing 24 not out and Grainthorpe had 18 points in the bag.

Grainthorpe thanked the generous sponsorship of Luxas Ltd of Louth and Countrywide Farmers.
