Grainthorpe take on Revesby
GRAINTHORPE hosted unbeaten Revesby in the ELCL on Sunday.
Grainthorpe won the toss and elected to bat, but they made a horrid start being 9 for 2 within 5 overs.
Captain Phil Burrell steadied the ship with youngster Conner Elvidge.
Conner was out for 8 and this brought Will Thornes to the crease, Burrell and Thornes put on 72 for the 4th wicket until Burrell was out for 63.
The players then had an early tea as the rain started to fall. Within an hour it was sunny and Grainthorpe continued their innings. Thornes dismissed for 29 within 2 overs of the re-start. Ashley Marsh made 16 not out as Grainthorpe posted an under-par 155 for 8.
Revesby made a steady start to their innings and when Daley Marsh and Roberts brilliantly caught be Reggie Koen they were 47 for 1.
Grainthorpes couldn't remove another batsman, with Twells (75 not out) and Lane (48 not out) seeing Revesby home thanks to some poor bowling and fielding.
The result all but ends any hopes Grainthorpe had at the start of the season of winning the league and once again down to some poor batting.
