ON Sunday Grainthorpe entertained Grimoldby in the ELCL. Grainthorpe skipper Phil Burrell won the toss and elected to bat, this decision seemed to have paid off when Dave Clark and Ashley Marsh put on 70 for the 1st wicket when Clark was out for 36.
Will Thornes then joined Marsh to put on another 20 before Thornes went for 11.

Phil Burrell then joined Marsh and they put on 98 runs for the 3rd wicket when Marsh went to a good catch for a well made 91, Burrell soon followed for 46 as Grainthorpe pushed for futher runs.

Daley Marsh hit a couple of lusty blows in his 11 but three run outs saw Grainthorpe end on 214 for 8 off their 40 overs. Grimoldby made a steady start against the bowling of Burrell and Adrian Smart, Burrell removing opener Spooner for 6, after 14 overs Daley Marsh came into the attack and capitalised on the tight opening bowling to remove the top order and finish with 5 wickets for 40 runs off 9 overs.

Smart bowling and an economical spell of 10-1-25-0 could have had several wickets if the chances were taken.

Rav Bains finished things off with 2 wickets to bowl Grimoldby out for 131 and give Grainthorpe 20 points, It has been a good finish to a difficult season.

Grainthorpe thank ball sponsor for the season Luxus Ltd of Louth.
