WELCOME to another season in the Don Noble Bookmaker Louth Billiards and Snooker League Pat Scott memorial trophy summer snooker league where defending champions Castaline start with a home draw against M A Stephenson Autos.
When Sam Mountain gave the hosts the lead they must have thought their defence was to begin with a win.
Even more so when Dan Blythe ran in a 29 break, but Hayden Gavey landed a fine catch to give the visitors a deserved 4-4 result and leave the champions reeling.
First week leaders are Manny Bernstein, who just edged out Seymour and Castle 5-3.
Last year's runners-up were stunned when the away side took a shock lead through Simon Davison, but order was restored by Martyn Taylor and the comeback victory was completed by Alan Coppin.
Don Noble Bookmaker and Tudor Driving School fought out an entertaining 4-4 draw.
The visitors hit top gear straight from the off with Pete Dales putting them in front, but once Keith Lewington had levelled the scores, the match always looked to be heading for evens.
